Utility is a term for a spell or ability that has some special effect that is helpful, but usually not specifically combat-oriented.

Exceptions
- Some combat spells with unusual effects (such as the mage spell Amplify Magic) are also commonly referred to as a utility spell. Utility spells can also be categorized as buffs that are only usable on allies, such as Detect Invisibility for example.
Types of Utility Spells/Talents
The list here is a sample of some of the more common utility spells or abilities, although each class does have some basic utility options.
- Hunter - Misdirect, Tracking
- Mage - Amplify Magic, Conjure Food, Dampen Magic, Slow Fall, Teleport/Portal to major cities.
- Priest - Levitate, Mind Vision
- Rogue - Lockpicking
- Shaman - Far Sight
- Warlock - Unending Breath
